Re: Offline, asynchronous salesby
Point of Sale modules does just what I wanted, thanks for the recommendation. I do, however, have a question:I've managed to configure new payment methods successfully (such as Check and Bank Deposit, for example). For the "Check" payment method, however, the salesperson needs to be able to write down the check information (such as check number, issuing bank, etc.) alongside its value, which is not covered by the POS module as far as I've seen.I'm using the "account_check" module by OpenERP Argentina (great job, by the way) to write down this information, but its screen is obviously not available through the POS interface, but rather the Sales tab. Adding this functionality to the POS module, although possible, seems a bit out of grasp from my Python skills. Therefore, I devised an alternative solution: is it possible to register a sale without any payment via POS (which would actually be an order, I believe), and later on register its check payment (and accompanying information) via the Sales tab? This way, the payments would still add up correctly on the Accounting system.I'm sorry if my question is somewhat obtuse or poorly worded. Any input is appreciated.Kind regards,On Sat, Jan 3, 2015 at 12:57 AM, Luis Felipe Miléo <firstname.lastname@example.org> wrote:

It's not guaranteed that they'll have Internet access in remote locations. Are there any modules or addons that would enable the salesmen to sell products "offline", and later on perform a synchronization step with the main DB of the Odoo system for consistency?Hello all,I'm looking into Odoo as a possible solution for a customer of mine, for sales and inventory management. Since I didn't find (at least, not visibly) a link to search on list archives, I'm asking here.
- User downloads a current state of the Odoo DB with the relevant information (client lists, products, warehouse availability, etc.); alternatively, a cached copy exists. I'm aware this most likely entails the user having a full-blown Odoo installation locally.
- User goes to a remote area, is now offline.
- User makes a sale, data is updated locally (of course, some data could already be inconsistent, especially product availability).
- User goes online, synchronizes with main Odoo DB; sales are uploaded, and inventory is updated accordingly.
Is there any addon that provides this kind of functionality? Thanks in advance for any input.
