Re: Proposition of Readme.rst and index.html for OCA modules

This is great news, but even greater is the prototype module... :)

Maxime, also it is off-topic, I have some questions:

How does the prototyping workflow actually mean? Maybe the usage part [1] could be extended a little bit.
Is the intention to make this workflow the standard way to create new modules? - When I figure it out right, this can be a very big help to newcomers. (+10000)
How does this coexist with the oe scaffold command?

I think this module should be heavily promoted, as it has so many good side effects on community contributions that it would be just too bad, if it was left (and forgotten) in the OCA-Module-Jungle... It is kind of a "reference implementation with placeholders" of the odoo reference. there is no better way how to teach/transmit knowledge, I think. If this module gains traction we might have a very complete set of templates in the end, which can serve as (reference) checklists for any type of development. - Something I'm missing until now...

Hi, Maxime,

Thanks for the initiative. Some suggestions:
  • Put a disclaimer like the one I put on this repository: OCA, or the Odoo Community Association, is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support the collaborative development of Odoo features and promote its widespread use.
  • Don't split authors and contributors. Sometimes, the work made by later contributors is higher than the work made by the author. I would put only "Contributors".
  • A better place to host the "template" is maintainer-tools, not server-tools.

Excellent work!

We appreciate that!

This work will make everyone work in a standard manner even if the module is not for OCA!

Thanks and Merry Christmas, Happy new year!
