Dear All,

If you need just to print product code there is no need of special module for this. Odoo 8 by default allows to generate barcode of several types as image. Than you just print that image by browser means. The only thing you need is to install on your instance module 'report'
Than enter the following url in your browser:

Supported barcode types:
'Codabar', 'Code11', 'Code128', 'EAN13', 'EAN8', 'Extended39',
'Extended93', 'FIM', 'I2of5', 'MSI', 'POSTNET', 'QR', 'Standard39', 'Standard93',
'UPCA', 'USPS_4State'

Th first thing you need to do is specify a report; it is expensive (in your time) to build reports just to discover if they are what you need or not.

Once you know why you need a report, and what that report should contain, the best method to generate it will become apparent, and if it does not, post the spec to the list and I am sure we can point you in the right direction.

If you are new to Odoo, it is likely that you do not need a report anyway, Odoo provides so much data through the UI and powerful tools to present the data that most things can be reported on, and the reports stored for easy future access.

If you find that the data is not possible to report on, minor tweaks to Odoo could be made to make the data available in the search. But, more likely, if you cannot report on it, the data may not be in Odoo anyway, therefore customisation may be needed to ensure Odoo collects the data that you need.

If the data is not available to put in to Odoo, it may be a business issue that either you should be collecting and storing more data, or you do not need to report on it.

Only then it is time to decide what book to spend your evenings reading...

I hope that is of some help.

I am a beginner in odoo (formerly openerp), and trying to create (not change a few words) new reports. For a couple of days searching I couldnt find resource for version 8 because many people are talking about 7 with some add ons for openoffice etc...

Is there any flow diagram how to create reports? or where to put files, which tags for XML or etc..

I am ready to buy a book and read in a night to understand the basics since I am lost at this moment with actions, views, QWEB, XML, reports, and many more concepts which is related with each other but very complicated if there is no source to read the relations.
