That's certainly something we could improve.

I think it should do the copy only when report is configured to be saved as attachement.
IMO we want some report to be available after print like printed invoices.

Hello
Yes it does send a copy directly to the  CUPS printer, but I would have thought it should NOT send a copy to the browser.
Do I miss something?

Hello,

Modules pointed by Ferdinand is now part of OCA projects which is on Github.
It has even been ported to 8.0 few weeks ago.

Have a look at report-print-send module in https://github.com/OCA/report-print-send

for companies this should become standard, it defines  a default printer for each user.

I have done this many times to print reports directly to a printer without returning a PDF. Such use case would be printing a shipping label with the click of a button.

You can use lpr, a command that can be used to send a pdf/document to a printer in linux. You can call the command from Odoo using subprocess.

import subprocess
command = ["lpr", "-H", 'host.ip', '-P', 'printer share name']
subprocess.call(command)

We used the webkit report module to generate a pdf with wkthmltopdf.
