Thanks for the info. I was not aware of these modules. The feature I just released, I had been using for several businesses since 2 years and it already works to my satisfaction and has support for everything I need. It was mostly a port, not a rewrite.

I will take a look at these modules and see in the future if I could benefit from them.

Hello Kyle,

Thanks for sharing your work.
Did you had a look or tried what was already existing in ?

In this OCA project we have a base of modules working on Odoo 7.0 to configure carrier types with several options. (those modules are currently being ported to 8.0)

Once configured, you can create your labels in one click. Moreover, with picking_dispatch and delivery_carrier_label_dispatch modules, you have the possibility to create a batch of labels for multiple pickings at a time.

If you are looking for direct printing option instead of generating pdf as attachements, in OCA project
you will find module base_report_to_printer (already ported to 8.0) which can do the job of sending your report to a local printer.

A more efficient way to do print labels should be though to print it without a click by using barcode scanner.
Did you do any step in that direction ?

Hi All,

I have developed a new shipping module for Odoo 8.0. It supports UPS and USPS via Endicia.

Here is a link:

The concept behind this module is to provide a streamlined way to print shipping labels. Existing software out there for Odoo requires so many clicks just to print 1 shipping label. This module is capable of doing everything all in one click.

This module is still under active development, and may not work for you. It will be improved in the coming weeks.

You will need both the Openlabs py-endicia and ups library modules (free). I will post a link to those in the repository later.
