Re: Install from OCAby

of course you can manually download every OCA branch you are interested in and put them in your addons_path option (via config file or command line), but your best automation option is to learn Anybox Buildout recipe. It became the de facto standard for that: http://pythonhosted.org/anybox.recipe.openerp
Yes, it's yet another thing to learn so if you want to do just one basic installation it's may be not worth learning. But if you need repeatability this the best way to achieve it. So basically there is that buildout.cfg instance specification where you will list the exact branches (OCA or not) you need and eventually their particular revision.
Hope this helps.

Hello everyone, I'm a longtime lurker, using OpenERP v7, installed from launchpad. I'm setting up my first customer and want to start with Odoo 8 OCA. What is the best way to begin an OCA installation? Should I clone the main Odoo v8 branch and then clone all the OCA repos overtop? That seems error prone and labor intensive. Is there any documentation or best practices specifically for getting started with OCA? Thanks! Dave
