Hello everyone,

I am evaluating Odoo 19 Enterprise for my company in the hospitality and event management sector, and I’m trying to understand how it could handle our way of working with custom event menus (for weddings, corporate dinners, etc.).

Each menu has a fixed structure made up of several courses (Starter, Main, Cold pause, Second course, Dessert), and each course includes several dish options.

For example:

Menu

Starter - Iberian Ham - Cured Tuna Main - Salmorejo Second - Grilled Tuna Loin Dessert - Cheesecake

Each course category has a base selling price and a maximum allowed cost.

If a selected dish exceeds that cost, the menu price increases automatically (for example, +0.50 €, +2.00 €, etc.).

My goal is to know whether Odoo can support this kind of configurable menu, and what would be the best approach:

  • Using the Product Configurator,
  • Creating child lines inside a main “Menu” product, or
  • Extending Odoo with a community (OCA) module.

Ideally, the salesperson (or even the customer through the website portal) could configure the menu and get an immediate quotation update.

I’d appreciate any guidance or examples on how this type of setup could be modeled within the standard Odoo workflow, or if it would require custom development.

Thanks in advance 🙏

Do me this sounds more like your sale price just depends on the cost (potentially with some fancy rounding at the end) - which can be set up with a pricelist.
