Selam!
Odoo is used worldwide in many languages. Properly handling translations is a challenge for most software companies and Odoo is no exception. This talk will provide an overview of everything related to translations within Odoo.
This talk assumes no background knowledge in internationalization (i18n) or localization (l10n) in general or within Odoo. It is also focused on technical aspects (i.e. more for developers and those familiar with basic coding), but will also include some information in the beginning about the Odoo translations workflow and our future plans for them (i.e. useful for translators). Topics covered include:
- What is i18n and l10n and what is the difference between them?
- Odoo's translations workflow
- What is the Odoo i18n structure?
- Some language challenges/common pitfalls to consider
