Healthcare supply chains are notorious for spanning several touch-points and geographies. They have become incredibly complex to ensure that patients get their healthcare products.
However, hospital and elderly home staff frequently rely on inefficient, manual supply chain management with low inventory visibility. Visibility on stock levels in the last mile is a key challenge.
To automate the last mile inventory management, Odoo can provide real-time stock levels. It can automate the supply of the needed goods using IOT devices such as digital labels and smart scales, helping monitor critical supplies in real-time in every storage room. This not only streamlines supply chain management but also helps save money.
Here’s how it works. Every time a medication or a product is taken off a shelf, the system will record the new stock level and eventually trigger the procurement according to the defined rules. Then a purchase order is sent through the right channel: to the vendor or leads to an internal transfer.
The nurse knows at any moment and location when the next re-supply will occur for a given product.
