After 10 years of international work experience, Geoffroy decided to come back to Belgium and to capitalize on his broad experience (he has held General Management position in DR Congo, Singapore and Myanmar) in order to develop a sustainable and positive activity (towards Belgian/European society and environment). The experience acquired allowed him to measure the importance to have strong and reliable processes in place. This led naturally Geoffroy to use Odoo in order to help him develop his activity.
aSmartWorld is developing innovative and sustainable processes and services through a local circular economy applied to smartphones.
We are integrating the value chain locally to generate value for the local economy and community. We collect used smartphones, refurbish them in Belgium and then sell these devices within the EU to B2C customers to ensure the best traceability possible.
This model is innovative and disruptive compared to current market practices.
We want to (and we will) change the whole market
Through this talk, we will:
- Show that Odoo is the perfect solution to help startups from their initial development phase (we don't really believe in the power of .XLSX files ;)).
- Show that circular economy is something serious and that Odoo indirectly contributes to his development.
- Demonstrate to potential partners that aSmartWorld is taking processes and traceability seriously and is using state of the art tools.
We are not only talking about it. We are doing it.
Key Learning/Value to the audience
ERP, CRM, ... can sound "scary". Odoo makes it easy to start working with such tools and has the advantage of being agile in its approach. A short overview of aSmartWorld's development will highlight this fact. We went through an MVP phase, the validation of the later and now we have the ambition to change the refurbished smartphones' market. We can focus on the business development and the strategy as we know that Odoo will allow us to realize our goals, one step at a time, and to take the right decisions thanks to the close monitoring of the activities.
