Hello,

Our company is new to Odoo (version 17)  and we wanted to be able to automatically add a free 1 year warranty as a service to the cart when certain products are added to the cart as a means of demonstrating to the consumer that they receive that and have less abandoned carts and so they also understand the service. However, we cannot find a function to do this or any means of customizing the cart without the customer manually adding the "automatic" one year warranty upon purchase. Is there a way to do this without mods as I heard that they can be buggy.

Thanks!

Couldn't you just create a service product called Warranty (free) and add it to the PO?

Yes, you can add a service directly when you sell the product.
One way of doing it, is to add the service as an optional buy, so the costumer doesn't feel obligated to buy the warranty, but this appears as an option on the quotation. https://youtu.be/SNsRDT9qB34

An alternative would be to create a rule with automations, that adds the warranty to a pre-defined list of items.
