Internal transfer between warehouses with transit location

I'm on Odoo 9 and have two warehouses. I can do a transfer directly between warehouses, but how do I do this with a transit location so that I have the transfer from the source warehouse to transit, and then some days later receive the transfer into stock at the destination warehouse?
