Tryna to wrap my head around this.
So I have water bottles im selling. I have water bottles as a product.
But I also I have pallets of water bottles that contain 100 water bottles.
Is there a way to have pallets added to my water bottle product? I tried using packages but I can't move them in the inventory
If you *always* buy in Pallets of the same size, perhaps this will work:
1. Setup a Unit of Measure (you may have to configure Odoo to support Units of Measure):
2. Configure your Product to use it:
3. Setup your Vendor pricing:
4. Your Purchase Orders will now default to this:
Using unit of measure this way, is not recommended. It can really mess up your logistic processes.
What have you had happen when doing this that you didn't want/like?
You use that uom in situation where you should not by mistake. And then shit happens.
Ah Yes. Of Course. We haven't worked out how to prevent user mistakes in Odoo yet!! :-)
To move packages: On Inventory-> Configuration->Operation types. Tick the box: Move Entire Packages.
Then you create packages on goods receipt, and you can move entire packages internally.

You should be able to move packages in the inventory module. On goods receipt yu have the fields and other stock movement, the field for packages is ther. But I never tested.
