If you have ever tried to add the cost in the product form and set it to automatic valuation Odoo won’t add it to the analytic account to the sale, this is because it will only valuate transactions that occur within the inventory app and services don’t go through inventory.

To address the problem we can modify the product “service” in the purchase tab and add a supplier and activate the subcontracting check.

You will have to make sure the cost is set as the price for the supplier and the subcontract check is activated.

After doing this the sale we create will create an additional purchase.

When we invoice this sale, we can add an analytic account and if we create a project on sale and it has analytic accounts enabled, the analytic account in the invoice will be set automatically.

We will proceed to go to the purchase order created on the sale for our supplier.

We will need to confirm it, then receive it if the invoicing policy requires it and then create a vendor bill and select our analytic account.

After doing this we can check the analytic account and all the corresponding lines will be there.
