Use of parent company in a multi company environment

Question

Trying to figure out if I need to use parent company in multi company setup. We have multi company environment in different countries (ie Japan, Vietnam, Taiwan etc.). They don't share parts and customers and requires pricing in local currencies.

So not sure if setting Parent Company (Japan) to Vietnam and Taiwan will be any benefit.

Odoo supports multi-company environment to make the operations smooth and discrete. Best not to set a parent company because your customers and pricing and currency are different. This will help you to avoid confusion and also working parallel with each company giving them a fair chance of privacy. As Odoo links the company you'll always get to have control over each company no matter whether you at Japan or Vietnam or Taiwan.
