We are using odoo9, we have created custom fields for project mgmt and we run that module in local server then it is visible and working fine.But here we are using ubuntu 16.04 lts server for odoo9, in that server we created some folders like ":/odoo/custom/addons$ " ,inside this path we put those custom module file and we restart the server.After this we update the app list and search for custom module , here we are not able to view that custom module.

In local server it is working ,but in ubuntu 16.04 lts server it is not visible.So please let me know how can I visible that module and.
