We normally forecast our purchases based on the quantity of a product that was used or sold in a given time period. For example, let's say I have a Box product. This product can be sold on its own, or it can be sold as part of a few different BOMs.

I would like to be able to see how many times it was used in a manufacturing order or sold over a given time period. I can easily see how many times it was sold if it was sold on its own, but if it was used in one or more BOMs I don't see how we can keep track of that information. Is this possible?

Is this truly difficult to do? Seems like understanding how many units of a given product you sold or used over a given time period would be a fairly common need for Odoo users.

It truly is.  I would like to have the same information.  We have products that we sell separately that are also components within BOMs.  There seems to be no where to actually pull this information.  I've tried running reports on stock moves, I've tried pretty much any and every report I can think of.   This information just seems buried.  Forecasted Inventory as I understand it considers on hand-(sold+open purchase orders).  It doesn't account for product usage. Michael you posted in 2017, it's 2023 now, I have to be missing something.  Anyone have a solution?
