I wanted to share my experience using Odoo to build my photography portfolio website. As a photographer, I needed a platform that could handle high-resolution images, videos in 4K, and provide substantial storage—all while being cost-effective.

I explored various options, including Instagram and Twitter for quick sharing, and even considered Squarespace. However, I found that these platforms had limitations, especially when it came to handling large files and offering the level of customization I needed.

That’s when I decided to try Odoo. The open-source nature of Odoo allowed me to create a highly customized website, meeting all my requirements without any upfront costs. The flexibility was a game-changer for me, and the SEO tools integrated into Odoo have helped my website, ranjanb.com, start ranking on Google. Thank you so much for your kind words about my site! It’s great to hear that you’re also transitioning your photography business tools to Odoo and moving your site from WordPress.

Regarding your question on product delivery, Odoo has a few options for delivering digital files. You can use Odoo’s eCommerce module to create products (in your case, digital files or prints) and offer them for sale directly through your website. For delivering digital files, the ‘Digital Products’ feature in the eCommerce module works well—it allows customers to download files once payment has been processed.

For prints, you can set up product variants or options within the eCommerce module for different sizes or print types. As for delivery, integrating third-party services like a print fulfillment provider is possible through custom modules or API integrations. Odoo’s flexibility should allow you to tailor the solution based on what works best for your business.

If you’re interested in further customization, it might be helpful to explore the Odoo Studio app, which allows non-developers to customize the platform easily.

I'm in the process of designing my own photography business tools in Odoo, and will start migrating my site from a wordpress site to an Odoo site as one of the first steps to do.

One thing I am struggling with is product delivery - getting the digital files to the client as well as possibly adding the ability to sell prints. are there solutions for these things that can be integrated directly into odoo?
