I have logged in MISC the initial general ledger content, including several lines for the available balance of the multiple bank accounts (all in EUR).  In our case a ll bank entries have to be logged manually.

How do I reconcile the values logged in MISC with the starting balance of each account with the first bank operation?

Hi,

Your question is not that much clear. But as per my understanding please check the below comments.

1. Create separate  Ledger  Accounts  for  each  Bank  account

2. Create a new journal entry for the opening balances of the Bank accounts have and  POST  it . (The bank ledger accounts on the Debit side and the Credit side should be an Equity type account)

3. Remove the related amount of the bank accounts from the first Posted MISC journal entry.

Hi, in v13, you can create a journal entry to set bank account balances. In other words, you can create credit/debit entries directly against the bank nominals. This means, no reconciliation is required. In v14 it is different, but I won't go into that. If you wish to have a reconcilation process against bank statements, then create the journal entries to go to receivable/payable suspense accounts (make sure such accounts are set as reconcilable) , then after these are posted, when you process a bank statement, you will be able to find these journal entries. I am assuming you are talking about opening balances, so the bank statement line would need to be an opening balance to make any sense.

Thank you both for your answers, they set me on the right track:

I need to set aside the default BANK journal (that I mustn't use) and create a new one for each bank account, using the PCN account number I used in the 2020 final balance I logged in MISC. ODOO automatically picks up the debit or credit previously registered in MISC. Having created a different number for each account this syncs nicely.

Easy and logical, when pointed out.
