if you mean by increasing :
you can assign multiple pricelists with the addition cost and your default Price list showd have the lowest price so any pricelist he select should be having a higher Value/ Price :
or else : You can use Customization and be sure when price changes it should be higher than the standard Price

inherit sale.order.line :
then def an onchancge function for the price_unit field :
then compare it with the your standard sale price if its greater complete it its lower :
raise user error
