Odoo is the world's easiest all-in-one management software. It includes hundreds of business apps:
CRM | e-Commerce | Accounting | Inventory | PoS | Project management | MRP | etc.
I know this question repeated many times but I really have a strange situation, I installed Odoo-Nightly (also tried odoo-Github) on a production server many times but WKHTMLTOPDF didn't render the header and footer for reports, I installed the same ISO of Ubuntu 14 server with same steps of installing odoo on a VMWARE for both Odoo-Github and Odoo-Nightly, reports printed well, I tried to reinstall a fresh copy of Ubuntu on the production server but reports in pdf still not printing the header and the footer (only printing them in Html).
Any one has an idea about the previous issue?
Finally I found the solution, the issue was with the used port in the url, in my production server I used another port behind a proxy, so I followed #JayVora steps from Serpent Co, he mentioned the solution in the following discussion link:
1. The version of WKHTMLTOPDF must be version 0.12.1 and needs to be manually downloaded from http://download.gna.org/wkhtmltopdf/0.12/0.12.1
2. The URL you use to get to server in the web client must match the parameter web.base.url
Verify this via Settings --> Technical --> Parameters --> System Parameters
