What would be the best way to use an item in inventory for the company?

Hello guy,

Situation : we have, for example, 3 hard disk drives in inventory. We decide to use one of them to our own activities.

How to make this move in Odoo? Should we have to create ourself an accounting entry to reflect this move?

We are searching the best way to make it in Odoo v8.

May be a part of solution.... May be we could create a new button « Use for the company » just at the right of the button « Scrap ».

Dear Pascal,

You can define a new virtual location "Own Consumptions" with location type = Inventory, with

Stock Valuation Account (Incoming) = expense account for own consumed products

Stock Valuation Account (Outgoing) = expense account for own consumed products

Then, when you create a stock move from an internal location to this location, the system will generate the following accounting entry:

Dr. expense account for own consumed products

Cr. inventory

Very nice from you. Thanks a lot.

My solution. I create external move with Partner = Your Company and with Invoice Control = Not Applicable.

external move?

In our chart of accounts settlement of the sale then remains open (not balanced) and the accountant then calculates an appropriate cost and post it on assets or expense (or... ) account.
