Website/ Ecommerce builder help

This is Odoo`s headline for website builder:  "Create beautiful websites in Odoo CMS with no technical knowledge. "

I go to tutorials> website builder, it states this:

"Warning

This guide assumes basic knowledge of Python

This guide assumes an installed Odoo"

So the 1st line scares me off (no knowledge of python)

The 2nd line suggests I am in the wrong place for online version of Odoo.

But I have spent hours searching for a basic non programmer guide for website builder & found nothing.

During your hours spent for searching, you would have already learned it :-)

Hi Geoff

Sometimes its best to just dive in and play. You can always set up another saas account if you want to try something out.

The web modules in odoo are fairly straight forward compared to some parts of odoo.

Good luck.

Thank you. It has taken me a couple of days to download them due to my very slow & intermittant internet connection.

Well worth the wait though, it has given me confidence to continue.

The tutorial you are refering to is about building websites from scratch, which is not necessary when you want using the website builder with its standard features. A simple introduction to the use of the website builder is here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhTNlmDNIIw  and a more elaborated one here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGLs9oq_Me4. Using Google, you can find even more videos, but IMO these are enough to get you started and making you able to try it out yourself.
