Unable to use send by mail function from sales order and quotations

System notes: (Odoo version 8.0-edf679c, Ubuntu Server 14.04, x64)

When clicking Send by Email button on an order/quote in the Sales Orders and Quotations menu, I only get a long trace telling me that there is an handle exeception, trace output:

I've tested using a "fresh" installation as well, but the problem remains - anybody have an idea on what might cause this error?
