A GAP analysis allows to accurately estimate the duration and the cost of an OpenERP integration project. It also allows the customer to have a clear view on the features and even challenges the customer to optimize the project (only keep the features that are truly critical). This is different than with SAP, Microsoft or Oracle because it's a well-known fact that a lot of their projects don't meet the initial expectations of the customer ("a box of pandora").
