I followed this article to the Tee but I don't get the email reminder.

How can I find out where the process is getting stuck or failing?

Could you post a link to the article that you're referring to?

+1 to Gary @ Mars: one potential point of falure could be whether your odoo's mail system is not setup correctly or you haven't set that up at all

And yes my server email is set up correctly because I do receive other automated emails such as sales order and purchase order confirmations.
