Products manufactured with variants ¿can they have different cost price?

Working on Odoo 8, created one product A and purchased products B, C and D.  Then created variants A(1), A(2) and A(3)  and a different BoM for each variant. Made MO and manufactured products.

When I go to product A(1) and update cost price from BoM, get price X1 and all of the other variants have the same price. When I go to product A(2) and update cost price from BoM, get price X2 and all of the other variants have now the same price X2.

Is this behavieur normal and espected? or do I have to configure something different? ¿How can I make each variant have its price according to materials in BoM.

Greetings

Update for visitors: I found another thread where it was commented and Fabien P. states with his words, that in Odoo variants are products with most similarities than differences, being cost price one of their equal attributes. https://www.odoo.com/es_ES/groups/community-59/community-8574605 I have also seen much discussion about the topic. Can see https://github.com/odoo/odoo/issues/1198
