Open ERP 7.0 access to same database from different computers

I think many people have this question:

Let's suppose my company has 3 workers named Andreas, Bruno and Carlos, each of them using its own computer. Because Andreas's computer has OpenERP All-in-One 7.0 installed, he decided to create on his computer localhost the first database of the company named WeAreTheBest_Store and 3 usernames (his, Bruno's and Carlos'). Bruno and Carlos want to have access (from their computers and with their own usernames) to this super cool database that Andreas created. Should they also install OpenERP in their machines? Should Andreas turn off the Firewall from his PC? What should Bruno and Carlos do to have access to WeAreTheBest_Store database (spending less money as possible???)??? Cause getting a server is pretty expensive... What would you guys do? Thank you and please give me a step by step answer.

Openerp is runnign a "webserver" (by default on port 8069) so all Bruno and Carlos have to do is to connect to Andreas Server with their browser.

The main question is, are Bruno and Carlos in the same LAN? or do they want to connect from the internet?

If they connect from the internet and you have security concerns I would recommend using a VPN. Depending on Andreas Setup (router in between, or a firewall), he will have to open a port and / or configure portforwards. In case Andreas "Server" has no static IP he will also have to setup some domain which woul link to his home computer and automatically updates with the actual ip adress.

Hi Adriana,

There are two ways to connect to your local host.

1) Connect through LAN (for it you guys should on Same LAN Netwrok)

Lets say his computer IP on LAN in 192.167.1.54

so Bruno and Carlos have to type  192.167.1.54:8069 on their browser.

If Not able to connect Turn off Firewall for it.

2) Connect to WAN

Type what is my ip on google  you will get a static ip for eg 122.157.12.56

Again you have to type  122.157.12.56:8069 for it

Please revert if you are facing any issues .

Thanks

Amol
