Open Attachments in Browser

on 2/2/15, 3:16 AM 880 views

We don't want to download attachments (e.g. for products) and open them afterwards. Is it possible to open attachments like PDFs directly in the browser? We tried Opera, Chrome and Safari, but all were downloaded instead of opened in the browser.

Which Browser do you recommend or do we need a kind of plugin for it?

EDIT: Extensions seem to work for inline attachments in messages only. Is it possible to show even the attachments in a browser via the attachments button in OpenERP?

Is this Google Docs solution safe? We don't want to upload our documents to Google.

Try the web_pdf_viewer module here.  It will be dependant upon the browser's capability to view PDF files, which for Firefox you need to install addons such as this if the version of Firefox does not already have the capability.
