Odoo 8. Remove Manage Database with a custom module

on 10/15/14, 11:35 PM 1,977 views

After Odoo 8 coming, the architecture of it was changed and I don't know how to remove the label "Manage" from the databse selector page. So, how can I do that with a custom module? Thanks.

@Vladislav, I think the question has been answered here: https://www.odoo.com/forum/help-1/question/how-to-show-the-manage-database-page-for-particular-user-like-administrator-in-openerp-v8-57036 Prakash's answer is the one you're looking for, although you can restrict the page using Nginx rules (see Luke's answer). Although I haven't tried it myself it looks like it should work. Please comment back and let me know how you get on in with this database, as it looks like something that is sorely needed for Public facing websites running Odoo 8.0 CMS and E-commerce.

thanks Luke. Your answer was useful, but it's not what I need.

I solved my problem using XPATH EXPR="" POSITION="replace". In the example below I changed the label "Powered by..." like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
        <template inherit_id="web.menu_secondary">
            <xpath expr="//div/a" position="replace">
                <a href="http://amazon.com" target="_blank"><span>Amazon</span></a>
        <template inherit_id="web.login_layout">
            <xpath expr="//div[@class='oe_single_form_footer']/a[1]" position="replace">
                <a href="http://amazon.com" target="_blank"><span>Powered by ...</span></a>

It works perfectly, but after removing the custom module there are few records in a database as rest
