Is it possible to mark a customer as sales tax exempt?

Example, here in the USA we have a defined sales tax rate of 7% in our state for all products we sell. BUT, some customers are NEVER charged sales tax as they are exempt.

How can I mark this customer as tax exempt so that when I create an invoice I do not have to remember to remove the sales tax for that specific customer?

you have to create a tax rule for the tax exempt. And then assign that user to that rule.

You can create the tax rule in the following area of your odoo setup.

go to the accounting menu.

Then select in the left menu unther configuration the Tax menu.

Create a tax rule for the tax exempt. you proberly want to set/create a fiscal position also. you can do that in the same submenu, just a few lines below the tax menu entry.

After that, you have to go to the customer information and set the fiscal position you assigned to that tax exempt rule.

Save the information and you are done!

If you find this information helpfull, then please give me an thumbs up vote!
