mails not being delivered to company email

we are running open erp for some time now, our mailing system works fine without any problems. It can send mails out to all the domains and are delivered fine there, but it cannot seem to send mails to the company domain. we have checked the server logs and it seems open erp is not even attepting to make a connection to the mail server for relaying the mail. i think it has something to do with the messaging system but we cannot figure out what excatly is the problem. Any help would be greatly appreaciated.

Have you tried connecting manually from the server configuration? If that works, what policies have you set for sending/receiving emails? Have you made an email template to test the connection with?
