You can connect to an openerp server over xmlrpc (In fact your web client also connects this way to the server).
iOS does not have native support for xmlrpc, but you can search for "iOS xmlrpc on google / stack overflow"
If you want sample code on how to use the xmlrpc layer, let me know, I have sample python code.
Can you provide link to them here?
