Under V7 the default for forms is with an A4 background. But for a number of screens, this looks horrible when extra fields are added. How do you get rid of the white form background.

And also, is there a way to add a horizontal line to a form. I have some with lots of fields and would like to break up.

For Only horizontal line

Because of OpenERP v7 supports basic HTML tags you can use < hr/> tag where you want to put horizontal line.(see in screenshot)

Ok for making page wide remove <sheet> </sheet> tags from form

<form string="Sales Order" version="7.0">
        <header>
               . . .
               other buttons
               . . .
        </header>
            <sheet>
                <h1>
                    <label string="Quotation " . . .
                    <label string="Sales Order . . .
                    <field name="name" . . .
                </h1>
                <hr/>  < < < < Here i add <hr/> tag
                <group>
                . . .

And for making page wide remove <sheet> </sheet> tags from form

Hope this will help :)

Thanks - for the other part, you can see that the white "form" section sits on top of a grey background - is there any way to either make the white form wider or for it to cover the whole page.

XML error comes if you add <hr/> tag in old version of form. If you want to use hr tag then define form like this

<form string="Sales Shop" version="7.0">

Define version in form .... But this will do lot's of changes change.

Thus conclusion is this if you want <hr/> (or other HTML tags) then there must be version="7.0" in form
