How to kill user session after 30 min user inactivity in Odoo v8? Any advice will be appreciated.

You can purchase and install the Idle Logout module (10.00 €), or you can modify line 1363 of .../openerp/http.py, which is currently set to 1 week. You will want 60*30 (60 seconds per minute times 30 minutes).

last_week = time.time() - 60*30

Note: Your users sessions will expire. Much like timeouts when purchasing things online, your users' unsaved form data will be lost.

It seems this should be made an adjustable feature company wide, or at least a freely available OCA module. Writing to the http.py file directly is not advisable, as it does not port or upgrade well.
