What operating system is the server running? What kind of server is it? Probably will be easiest to go with Ubuntu or Debian on an ec2 instance with atleast 2CPU cores and 2GB+ RAM.

If you don't know what you are doing in terms of system administartion I suggest you practive in a VM first. This is for your own good.
