How to change email defaults for "Send a message" in CRM under "opportunities"?

I am trying to use the CRM module to track opportunities. Whenever there is an update to an opportunity I want to send a message to the followers of that opportunity and log the update below the description of the opportunity. That is working fine.

However, when I click on "Send a message" under "opportunities", the email address of the customer is checked by default which is very risky because the internal update will be sent to the customer also if I forget to uncheck the box.

How can I change the default to have the checkbox next to the email adress of the customer unchecked?
