I buy and sell used items.  I am still trialing Odoo and have figured out how to add inventory and sell stuff via POS, but can't figure out a way to buy direct from customers. Is this possible with Odoo?  Am I missing a module or obvious steps?

It doesn't feel like the Purchase module is the right thing.  It's a buy/sell store.  Customers walk in and sell me stuff, usually for store credit. I turn around and resell it.  Invoicing isn't something that ever enters the equation.  Ever deal with Gamestop or similar?  Like that.

Hi,

by 'buy' do you mean that a customer is also you supplier? If so:

  1. install the module 'purchase'

  2. Go to a customer form, on the tab 'Sales & Purchases' check the box 'Is a vendor'

  3. Go to the purchase menu and create a purchase order for this customer.

If you mean that you would like to manage returns from a customer (like 'buy back'). Then:

  1. For POS look at, e.g.: https://www.odoo.com/documentation/user/11.0/point_of_sale/shop/refund.html

  2. For Sales: in a delivery, and in a invoice you would have the buttons 'return', 'refund'
