How to associate an inbound email with a contact?

I am used to a bbc to email type of feature in other CRMs.  I am trying to understand if odoo has this, then how to implement.  I have added 3 inbound email servers but I am not seeing how to best use them other than creating leads.   

My scenario would be:  

I go to a lead / customer and send an email.  Lead gets the email.  They respond.  When they do it gets sucked up into the system and associated with the lead.  

Is that possible?

You do exactly what you have outlined.  With email configured properly, any email you send from beneath any document in Odoo (a lead, an order, an invoice) via SEND A MESSAGE will be stored permanently beneath that document, send to all the followers of that document plus any others you add, and all replies from anyone who replies to that email will also show up there.

Have you setup a catchall@mydomain.com account in the Settings | Technical | Email | Incoming Mail Services?   Once you setup that account, any email that is consumed will be matched to the correct contact in your system.

Hi Ray, 

Thanks for the response.  I am getting the outbound messages.  It was the replied email.  They are being sent to catchall@mydomain.com.   Just not sure how to, I guess, assocate that with the lead.
