I have tried using a Custom Filter on field "Messages", but it always returns zero records. I have also tried the "Edit SearchView" from developer menu and added: 

<field name="message_ids" operator="child_of"/>.

The search always returns no results. I only need to search the Message (not the user or date). Is this a known bug? Or am I doing something wrong?

 Create your own view that inherits the Search View for Helpdesk Tickets and add this:
