How do I re-open a closed purchase order

If a purchase order is accidentally closed, how can it be re-opened?

You can't, unless you install a Community module.

This module allows to reopen (set to Quotation) Purchase Orders in state progress and cancel as associated pickings or invoices are canceled if possible.

Please excuse my ignorance, what is a" Community Module"?

There are three kinds of modules generally available for OpenERP: OFFICIAL/CERTIFIED, PRIVATE and COMMUNITY. The difference is explained at http://v6.openerp.com/services/faq-onsite

You may need purchase_order_reopen with stock_picking_reopen and account_invoice_reopen.

You must also need to activate the "Allow Cancelling Entries" in stock journal and Purchase Journal.
