Does Odoo have an intra email system that is addressable by job/post and is configurable so that individuals may be assigned to posts?
The email system would need a configuration intra-net webpage showing all posts in the organization, and their hierarchy of management. This webpage would have permissions allowing certain individuals to assign or remove personnel, as well as add new positions to the hierarchy (This should already exist in some form, I expect). Each post/job would not necessarily have a person assigned, but would be addressable. If a person was not assigned to the post, then the email would be routed to the inbox of the person assigned to the next-highest manned post in the hierarchy of posts. All intra-organizational email could be required to, and incoming external email could be allowed to be addressable to a post rather than a person, or, optionally, a post/person. All intra-organizational email would carry the post as part of the header, so that a person manning several positions could easily identify the particular one. A particular post could be designated to be a "pool" of personnel. In these cases there should be some sort of flagging and monitoring functionality for the pool so that a pool member could tell others "I've got this one", and also so that other pool members or a manager would be notified if a particular item claimed by one pool member had not been handled within a certain length of time. Completed pool items should be able to be seen and reviewed by all pool members, as well as pool management.
Temporary assignments (vacation coverage, etc.) should be able to be made by immediate managers, as long as the temporary coverage is shorter than a given period. Long term assignments would require more approvals.
Benefits: More awareness of the complete organization by all personnel, and to some degree by the public, allowing more intelligent routing and handling of communications, as well as easier compartmentalization of functionality by individuals who "wear more than one hat". It would also make it more comfortable to deal with an organization without exposing your personal life for those who don't agree that working in an organization carries a requirement to get chummy. This plays better in some cultures-- German, for example, but many languages have a differentiation between the personal and formal built into them. This would also be in alignment with the group dynamics philosophy based on the Object Oriented Programming model as seen in the owndrummer.blogs.ru.
