DB Admin password reset each time we update Odoo 8. Isn't it stored in the database?

Maybe we got it all wrong.

Whenever we update our self-managed odoo 8 instance, the DB admin password is reset to admin.

We have to manually change it via DB admin portal.

Is not that change persistently recorded in the DB?

Why we have to reset it back manually?
