I have installed openerp-server and openerp-client on debian using apt-get install. However, when I launch the client I get the following error "Could not connect to server" in the log-in box on the database line.
I've checked the .openerprc config file but don't know what I should be looking for.
The server seems fine. The following is the output of tail -f /var/log/openerp-server.log [2013-08-11 11:01:23,843] INFO:shutdown:Shutdown Server! - SIGTERM [2013-08-11 11:09:56,453] INFO:server:version - 5.0.12 [2013-08-11 11:09:56,454] INFO:server:addons_path - /usr/share/pyshared/openerp-server/addons [2013-08-11 11:09:56,454] INFO:server:database hostname - localhost [2013-08-11 11:09:56,454] INFO:server:database port - 5432 [2013-08-11 11:09:56,454] INFO:server:database user - openerp [2013-08-11 11:09:56,454] INFO:objects:initialising distributed objects services [2013-08-11 11:09:56,619] INFO:web-services:starting XML-RPC services, port 8069 [2013-08-11 11:09:56,619] INFO:web-services:starting NET-RPC service, port 8070 [2013-08-11 11:09:56,619] INFO:web-services:the server is running, waiting for connections...
The fact that my attempt to connect using the client is not showing up in the server logs is worrying! Neither does an attempt to browse to the web client using the localhost 8069 port
