Bitnami install enterprise upgrade from community

I have followed the instructions on how to upgrade the community version of odoo by adding a new module folder, updating the addons path, and upgrading the web module.  I have completed that successfully but when I try to login it says wrong login/password.  I even tried a new password by updating the database directly using an encrypted password hash.  Also if I click on manage databases I get plain text that says Internal Server Error.  I used the odoo stack provide by bitnami.  I'm not sure if the bitnami stack can be upgraded by just adding in the modules or if I should just install it without using the stack but then I'm not sure if anything special would need to be configured.
