I see that the form builder will be part of the indegogo campaign which has finished here: https://www.odoo.com/groups/community-59/community-9432310?mode=thread

gif demo here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5BDHVRYo-q5NjBqY2RKd1BJRGIwN3hxU1oxQlJvOTdSWmdF/view?usp=sharing

If this was nearly finished on oct 10th, is it finished now? Will this be a free and open source tool, or can I purchase it? I can't find when or where this will be available. I'm eager to start using this form builder, does anyone have any additional information or documentation about it? Thanks in advance.

@Zac, I think this tool is being worked on in the odoo-dev repository.

It's designed for the master branch, so hopefully OCB (https://github.com/OCA/OCB) will backport it properly to 8.0.

With that being said i've cloned the repo here:
https://github.com/odoo-dev/odoo/tree/master-form-builder-mdo

and created a symbolic link to the directories needed (https://github.com/odoo-dev/odoo/tree/master-form-builder-mdo/addons/website_form_builder) and it seems to be working fine.

I would definitely not recommend using it in production due to the constantly changing nature of the module at the moment, however if you want to test it out you should have no problem cloning it to play around with it. It looks like it is quite close to it's initial release, so hopefully it will be announced soon along with the theme developer handbook from Indiegogo. It should be an extremely useful module that should be quite extendable once it's finished.

Thanks Luke, that's great. I'll see if I can get it working on my computer, but I might just have to wait for the offical release on odoo online. Any other info or rumours from the community are appreciated. What are the capabilites and limititations in regards to how it creates leads? I am hoping this tool will allow for the creation of multiple partners, or leads and companies from one single form. I'm planning to create a school registration database that will allow clients to enter in the parents info as the company (where company = the family name) and the students info would be entered as a contact of the company. (or a similar workaround, to link students to parents) We are trying to do this with a very limited budget and limited expertise/experience, so this might just be the beginner friendly tool that makes Odoo work for us.

@Zac, You can take it for a test run in the runbots: runbot.odoo.com just switch to the github.com/odoo-dev/odoo branch of runbots and find: master-form-builder-beta-mdo you can add it as a snippet on the frontend once you have logged in. username and password are both admin.
