I want to show the openerp partner search pop up on button click in POS. I put the button in pos.xml as given below

<div id="rightheader">
<div id="order-selector">
    <button class="neworder-button">+</button>
    <ol id="orders"></ol>
<!-- here goes header buttons -->
<button class="order-selector-button">Select Customer</button>

I came to know that I need to write a JS code for that but I am not getting how can i call the res_partner search view from JS?

Download this module from launchpad: bzr branch lp:~mmakonnen/openobject-addons/point_of_sale_enhanced-70 and replace the default OpenERP module with it.

Fromt the commit list of this module:

  1. By Michael Telahun Makonnen on 2013-01-09 In point_of_sale module add ability to select customer from the POS screen

Add a button in the upper right header which, when clicked, pops up a dialog box to select a customer. You can search for a customer by name, tin no, email, phone or mobile.

Currently doesn't support adding a new customer from this screen. You will have to leave the POS and add the customer in the normal way.

Thanks Faheem I was looking for the same..

Hi Faheem, Is it possible in Openerp 7 that we can develop a separate module which extend the functionality of POS front end like adding that customer selection part. So we don't need to write code in existing POS module. Thanks in advance
