Account Type Category and Deferral Method, error message

I am trying to prepare one of my data files for the generation of opening balances for the next financial year and want to update the Account types so that deferrals are handled correctly.

When I try to set the P&L / BS Category to "Balance Sheet (Asset Account)" and Deferral Method to "Balance" I get a failure message (see below). It seems the only possible combination is "/" and "Balance" which might not give me the right options for preparing the financial reports.

Has anyone come across this problem and does he know a solution?

Failure message:
