Hello, I have several types of products. I wanted to know what title I should choose in the Product Type section:

1- raw materials for product production (for example: the wooden timber that must be turned into a table base in the production line, and is this bom?

2- A semi-finished product that is one of the raw materials in the production line (the table base is made of wooden timber and is not a bom)?

3- The final product that is offered to customers after production?

4- Paper, pens and pencils... which are used in the company's administrative units and have nothing to do with bom?

5- Devices and machines such as wood cnc machine that must be purchased for the company and are not connected to bom?

6- Repair services for production line devices that are referred to my company by the company's external work service for service and repair?

7- Nickel chrome plating services (example: the part produced in our company's production line is sent to the supplier's place and the supplier performs nickel chrome plating services and this product is connected to the product bom)?

thanks

hello

Thank you very much in advance for the answers you provided and for guiding me.

Rows 5 and 7 are not clear to me in the presented table.

Row 5 for the purchase of machines and devices such as (air conditioners, printers, lathes, saws, electric drills, etc.) which refers to administrative units and production lines. Why should we define the type of this product for storage?

Row 7 also refers to goods that are used in the production of a product, it is true that its nature is service, but its inventory level in the warehouse must be under control.

More explanation:

We receive two types of services from suppliers.

1- Services that are not directly related to the production of a product (such as device and tool repair services that are performed by external agents such as suppliers)

2- Services that are directly related to the production components of a product (example: because we don't have a paint line or a plating line inside the company, we have to send the parts produced in our production line outside the company to perform painting or plating services and Inventory level control is important to us regarding this product.)

Hello,
Devices and Machines :
Knowing their type (like consumable or storable) helps in managing assets accurately and ensures proper accounting.By defining them as storable products, you can manage inventory levels and apply maintenance schedules effectively.

Hello,

  • Storable Product: Products that are kept in inventory and whose stock levels need to be tracked.
  • Consumable: Products that do not require inventory tracking; they are simply consumed upon use.
  • Service: Non-physical products or services that you provide or receive (like repairs or maintenance).
  • Combo / Event Ticket / Booking Fees: These types are generally related to specific business scenarios and might not directly apply to your manufacturing and inventory needs.
