I want use PoS and POSBOX in different Network.
Odoo 8 will run in a datacenter. The POSBOX with Scan, Printer etc. in my Intranet.
How can I set connection between these 2 networks?

I found the solution:
The problem was the differents between http and https. My Odoo Server has a https certificate. My POSBOX not. So the browser don't allow the communication to the POSBOX. So I installed a certificate on POSBOX and set the IP on Odoo hardware proxy to "https://x.x.x.x
Now it works ;)

Hi Martin! I've an instalation of odoo in the cloud, but now I need to hava the same behavior that I have with the POSBOX (the tablet, the cashdrawer, the printer Epson TM ), but with the instalation of odoo in the cloud and not in the PosBox. Now you gave hope, but I don't know how to configure this. Can you give me some tips? Please. Thanks
Do you have hw_escpos installed ? I have always this error : openerp.addons.hw_escpos.controllers.main: disconnected : Printer Not Found , but I can comunicate with the cashdraw (it opens ) ....

So, if Odoo runs in the cloud, I would need a second PC anyhow? Then I guess, it would be easier connect printers etc. directly to that pc, until I would need another point of sales, right? Are there any hardware requirements for PC? I guess any device that runs a webbrowser and has an ethernet adaptor should do, the job, right?

The POSbox needs to be in the same network as the PC, where you run the Point of Sale. When you start the POS screen, it wil search for the POSbox. Look at the network icon right above the screen. I've tested it on Firefox and Chrome with Odoo SaaS and my own Odoo VPS.

Correct. You can have an Odoo VPS anywhere in the world. You only need the computer and the PosBox to be in the same network and everything will work fine.
